Last week, SPRING/Bangladesh had the privilege of participating in the 14th World Congress on Public Health in Kolkata, India. SPRING/Bangladesh's divisional manager for Khulna, Mr. Md. Nazmul Huda, presented as part of a concurrent panel discussion on nutrition looking at innovations in nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions. In his presentation, "Scaling up nutrition using synergies between health & agriculture platforms in Bangladesh," Mr. Huda highlighted SPRING/Bangladesh's work, providing examples of innovative work on the ground through partnerships, multiple-channel messaging, government capacity building, and direct implementation to improve the nutritional status of women and children. He was joined by Dr. Agnes Guyon, Senior Technical Advisor of John Snow, Inc. (JSI) and Ms. Ronali Pradhan, Senior Program Manager, of Digital Green. The session was chaired by Dr. Sushma Dureja, Deputy Commission of Adolescent Health Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Government of India.
