The A2Z Project collaborated with the Institute of Food Technologists to conduct an assessment of rice fortification in China, Costa Rica, the Philippines, and the United States. The objectives of the assessment were to: establish a baseline of rice fortification practices, industrial requirements, and the needed investment and recurrent costs for rice manufacturers; and assess the technical and economic feasibility and the implications of the introduction of rice fortification in developing countries. This report presents the findings of this study and provides recommendations for future rice fortification programs.
