Uganda Districts Reduce Anemia with DATA
SPRING developed the District Assessment Tool for Anemia, or DATA, to strengthen planning for anemia reduction at the subnational level. DATA is an Excel-based tool used during a two-day facilitated workshop, where local stakeholders from different sectors prioritize actions. As of 2017, DATA has been implemented in Ghana, Nepal and Uganda.
Fortifying National Efforts to Improve Nutrition for All
In Uganda, SPRING provides technical assistance and leadership at the national and district levels to help reduce stunting, micronutrient deficiencies, and anemia, particularly in children and women of childbearing age.
Districts Address Anemia with DATA
SPRING developed the District Assessment Tool for Anemia (DATA) to assist countries in strengthening anemia programming at the district level. DATA helps districts determine factors contributing to anemia in their specific setting, identifies enablers and barriers to addressing anemia, and offers guidance for prioritizing interventions and actions to strengthen anemia-related programming.
